We’re searching for a highly skilled and knowledgeable individual to lead the development and submission of Environmental Permit applications that will enable on‑site disposal of radioactive waste and support decommissioning, site restoration and closure. This is a rare chance to define sustainable decommissioning approaches, collaborate with regulators and multi‑disciplinary teams, and influence national thinking on nuclear site restoration. You’ll also play an important role in wider NRS strategy work, including helping shape responses to Government consultations on nuclear site closure.
You will also
You’ll bring a strong academic foundation, supported by deep technical expertise in environmental permitting and safety cases. Your background will include significant experience delivering complex environmental and human health risk assessments, combined with a solid understanding of environmental modelling approaches and relevant national and international standards.

In addition, it would be advantageous to have experience in managing contractors, undertaking technical assessments, including project reporting / accountability and knowledge of interfacing regulatory regimes including conventional waste, groundwater and Town and Country Planning Act.
