Job summary

WSP UK is seeking environmental professionals of varying experience to support the Environmental Management and Assessment Team across offices. You will engage with onshore/offshore renewables, aviation, nuclear, rail, and more, guiding environmental design, assessment and management through project lifecycles.

The role emphasizes proactive leadership, coordination of EIA processes, and collaboration with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable outcomes.

Qualifications

• A relevant environmental degree level qualification.
• Achieved or working towards Chartered Environmental Status and Full membership of IEMA, or similar with a relevant body.
• Experience of EIA and EIA processes in multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of environmental and planning legislation.
• Coordination of environmental assessments on diverse projects.
• Understanding of project management activities including commercial, risk, forecasting and QA.
• Experience liaising with cross-discipline teams and external bodies.
• Strong verbal and written communication with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental advice and support to clients, project managers and colleagues.
• Work with diverse environmental specialists, clients and engineering teams to promote sustainable design.
• Manage delivery of environmental inputs into projects (EIA screening, scoping, ES, studies).
• Oversee project performance across technical, quality, commercial and HSE aspects.
• Build relationships with clients and identify opportunities for resourcing, scheduling and delivery.
• Assist in securing new work through proposals and business development contributions.
• Support development of innovative techniques in Environmental Impact Assessment and related areas.
• Mentor junior staff and promote inclusive practices and health and safety.
