Job summary

MBDA is seeking an Environmental Project Engineer to collaborate with Systems Engineering, Architecture, Design and Proving teams to drive environmental requirements and prove strategies throughout the product development cycle.

You will define and manage environmental testing programmes, acting as the technical focal point across concept definition, design aid, qualification, certification and in-service support. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience.
• Experience planning, managing and delivering small to medium work packages.
• Knowledge of environmental engineering within the defence sector or relevant industry.
• Knowledge of vibration, shock, temperature and humidity environments and their applicability to products across life cycles.
• Understanding of environmental test processes, measurements and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of international Environmental Standards (DEF STAN 00-035 / AECTP 300 / AECTP 400 / Mil-std 810).
• Analytical mind and strong problem-solving skills.
• Inquisitive mindset with a solutions-driven approach.
• Good verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with MBDA functions to generate environmental requirements and support product development.
• Define cost-effective proving strategies and deliver environmental test programmes.
• Provide a technical focal point across the product lifecycle from concept to in-service support.
• Interface with customers to plan, deliver and monitor work packages within delegated authority.
• Ensure delivery to timescales and costs while supporting complex engineering projects.
