Environmental Officer - Manufacturing Industry

V7 is seeking an experienced Environmental Officer on behalf of our client in the Manufacturing Industry. This is a full-time, permanent role offering a competitive salary, 5 weeks of annual leave, and additional company benefits.

Responsibilities

1. Monitor and evaluate environmental performance, including emissions and wastewater discharge compliance.
2. Prepare and submit environmental reports, permits, and documentation to regulatory authorities, internal stakeholders, and sustainability partners on time.
3. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental legislation and advise management on regulatory changes and implications.
4. Implement measures to mitigate risks related to regulatory and other environmental requirements.
5. Conduct site inspections and internal audits to identify risks, non-compliance, and improvement opportunities.
6. Support external inspections or audits to ensure standards such as ISO45001, 14001, and 9001 are maintained.
7. Oversee proper handling, storage, and disposal of waste materials.
8. Promote resource efficiency, waste reduction, and recycling initiatives.
9. Investigate environmental incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
10. Maintain records of spills, emissions, and incidents, ensuring proper follow-up and reporting.
11. Develop and deliver environmental training programs for staff.
12. Foster a culture of environmental responsibility and sustainability within the workplace.
13. Keep comprehensive records of compliance activities, permits, training, and performance metrics.
