Job Title: Environmental Manager

Location: Edmonton, North London. Site-based.

Salary: GBP 63,000 + bonus and generous pension contribution scheme.

HSE Recruitment Network is recruiting for an Environmental Manager, representing a dynamic, inclusive, and innovative global leader in drinks manufacturing.

The role focuses on leading and championing environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement at the site by implementing policies, managing risks, driving waste and resource efficiency, and engaging teams to achieve environmental goals.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Act as the on-site Environmental expert, leading the implementation of environmental policies and standards.
  2. Ensure compliance with legal and corporate requirements, and lead initiatives to meet the site's carbon and sustainability targets.
  3. Lead waste reduction and efficiency projects within manufacturing to drive measurable improvements.
  4. Coach frontline teams in environmental incident investigations and embed learnings into practices.
  5. Serve as the site's Environmental representative and main contact for the Environment Agency, including managing the Environmental Permit.
  6. Drive the site environmental plan, conduct internal audits, and report on energy and water budgets.
  7. Sustain and manage compliance with ISO 14001 accreditation.
  8. Lead environmental risk management using Aspect and Impact assessments and collaborate with Manufacturing and Distribution teams to mitigate risks.
  9. Champion and role-model environmental initiatives and behaviors across the site.
  10. Apply root cause problem-solving to reduce environmental impact.
Essential Experience, Training, and Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, Environmental Science, or related technical field is desirable (not mandatory); a master's degree is a plus.
  2. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams.
  3. Track record of driving behavioral and cultural change in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  4. Relevant certifications (NEBOSH, IEMA, or equivalent) are advantageous.
  5. Experience leading waste reduction projects and delivering efficiency improvements.
