Job summary

Tameside Council is hiring for a permanent Market cleansing operative based at Ashton Market Hall. You will join a multi-skilled team responsible for carrying out a range of tasks that maintain and improve the quality of the local environment. The role covers areas around Ashton Market Hall, Market Grounds and Town Centre zonal areas.

Weekend work on Saturdays and Sundays attracts paid enhancements. We value a flexible approach, good communication, and the ability to work in a busy market

The Role

Based from Ashton Market Hall, the successful candidate will work as part of a multi-skilled team responsible for carrying out a range of tasks and operations that maintain and improve the quality of the local environment.

Areas of responsibility will include the Ashton Market Hall, Market Grounds and Zonal areas within the Town Centre.

You must demonstrate a flexible approach to work loads, possess excellent communication skills along with the ability to deal with a challenging role within a busy market environment.
