Job summary

Tameside Council invites applications for a permanent Market cleansing role based at Ashton Market Hall. You will join a multi-skilled team responsible for cleansing duties across the Market Hall, Market Grounds and town centre zones, working 36 hours per week. The post requires flexibility, good communication, and the ability to work weekends with enhancements.

The salary is Grade B, Scale 4 (£25,185 per year). Based in Ashton-under-Lyne.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Ashton Markets/Town Centre cleansing team. Based from Ashton Market Hall, the successful candidate will work as part of a multi-skilled team responsible for carrying out a range of tasks and operations that maintain and improve the quality of the local environment.

Areas of responsibility will include the Ashton Market Hall, Market Grounds and Zonal areas within the Town Centre.

You must demonstrate a flexible approach to work loads, possess excellent communication skills along with the ability to deal with a challenging role within a busy market environment.

The post involves Saturday and Sunday working with paid enhancements.
