Job summary

Equans Data Centers is seeking an Environmental Advisor to support decarbonisation and environmental management across data center projects in the UK. You will be the main contact for environmental matters on construction sites, with regular travel to sites.

You will deliver site monitoring, assist with carbon reduction targets, implement waste reduction plans, and support BREEAM/LEED ratings while partnering with project teams to reduce risks and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Environmental Advisor or similar role.
• Knowledge of ISO14001 applications.
• Experience with BREEAM/LEED knowledge and advisory certification.
• Ability to assess environmental hazards and mitigate measures.
• Willingness to travel nationally across projects.

Responsibilities

• Organise site environmental monitoring, measurement and reporting for regulatory and business purposes.
• Assist with central carbon reduction targets for projects.
• Implement waste reduction plans and circular economy initiatives.
• Embed sustainable practices on site with training and toolbox talks.
• Help achieve BREEAM/LEED ratings and certifications when required.
• Provide guidance to project teams to reduce environmental risk on site.
• Monitor and report environmental performance and conduct site inspections.
• Prepare and review project environmental documents.
• Investigate environmental incidents with project teams.
• Produce regular internal reports highlighting site KPI performance.
• Collaborate with central Environmental & Sustainability team to drive the agenda.
• Upskill teams and deliver site-based environmental training.
• Advise clients on environmentally related issues when required.
• Review site environmental performance against KPI targets.
• Ensure sites have all permits and licences for activities with environmental impact.
