Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear in Whitehaven, Cumbria, is seeking an Environmental Laboratory Analyst to join the on-site analytical team. You will conduct chemistry analyses on samples to support client projects while upholding safety, quality, and environmental standards.

You will perform routine analyses at Westlakes Science Park, contribute to accreditation efforts, and work with colleagues to ensure timely, compliant results for sites such as Sellafield. A BPSS clearance will be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in analytical chemistry.
• Awareness of conventional and radiological safety.
• Awareness of ISO17025 standard.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering assigned programmes of work to ensure timely, high-quality analytical results.
• Comply with laboratory quality management systems to support accreditation.
• Follow safe working practices and procedures in a lab environment.
• Collaborate with team to provide consistent, efficient service and share knowledge.
• Identify and report issues to maintain and improve capability and service levels.
• Assist with validation of new techniques and equipment to meet quality systems.
