Job summary

Manpower is seeking an HGV Driver (Environmental) in the Rainham area to operate a vehicle safely and in compliance with regulations. You will collect, transport and deliver environmental waste materials, secure loads, complete checks, and maintain accurate documentation while upholding safety and customer service standards.

The role requires a valid HGV licence, Driver CPC, tachograph card where applicable, and experience in commercial driving, preferably in environmental or waste-related

Qualifications

• Valid HGV driving licence with a strong safety record.
• Driver CPC qualification and a valid tachograph card where applicable.
• Experience driving HGVs in a commercial setting, ideally in environmental/waste ops.
• Solid knowledge of UK road safety and drivers’ hours rules.
• Ability to perform vehicle checks and keep the vehicle clean and ready.
• Professional communication when dealing with customers and site staff.
• Reliable timekeeping and ability to follow planned routes.
• Comfort in noisy, busy environments and varying weather conditions.
• Basic IT literacy to support electronic records.

Responsibilities

• Operate an HGV vehicle safely and in compliance with regulations and procedures.
• Collect, transport and deliver environmental waste materials per route plans.
• Secure loads and complete vehicle checks before/after shifts.
• Keep accurate delivery records and required compliance paperwork.
• Follow health and safety rules and site rules at all times.
• Interact professionally with site staff and customers; provide reliable service.
• Report defects or incidents to transport team promptly.
• Assist loading/unloading and route adjustments as directed.
