Job description

I am seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor to join my renowned aviation industry client based in Hayes, West London.

As the Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor, you will work within the Quality Team to develop and support primarily the Health & Safety function of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) for the company.

Role: Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor

Location: Hayes, Middlesex

Shift: Mon-Fri, 08:00 - 17:00 - 40 hours per week

Salary: Up to £43,075.46

Responsibilities:
  1. Interact with departmental managers to ensure EHS compliance.
  2. Control the completion of Risk Assessments and COSHH assessments.
  3. Report and investigate accidents, including KPI reporting to the Product Division.
  4. Audit to ISO14001 and 45001 standards to maintain approval.
  5. Create EHS policies in line with UK law and company requirements.
  6. Deliver targets for health & safety implementation and compliance.
  7. Develop and introduce a Safety Team from cross-functional areas.
  8. Assess new substances, including managing REACH requirements.
  9. Ensure PPE standards are met and compliant.
  10. Advise on EHS training and collaborate on training development.
  11. Develop and maintain a control plan for EHS testing requirements.
  12. Support Human Resources on occupational health matters.
  13. Conduct meetings with first aiders and provide support.
  14. Support the Quality Team, including updating procedures.
  15. Deputise for the Security Manager when required.
  16. Perform tasks within capability to meet company needs.
Requirements & Education:
  • Preferably have an EHS background with aviation knowledge.
  • Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or relevant field, or equivalent experience with secondary education (A Levels) or BTECH/HNC.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or IOSH Certificate/Diploma or equivalent.
  • Recognised auditing qualification with experience in ISO14001 or ISO45001.
  • Excellent administration and coordination skills.
  • Experience in Risk Assessments, Audits, and MSDS review.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and develop positive relationships.
  • Ability to produce accurate and timely reports.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK at application time.
