Biffa Waste Services is seeking an Environmental & Gas Operative to cover Norfolk, Suffolk & Cambridge. You will undertake environmental monitoring, data interpretation and reporting in line with site permits and manage gas field balancing and maintenance, supporting power generation at landfill sites.

The role is typically 42 hours per week with on-call rotation, a company vehicle, and on-call allowance plus overtime when called out.

Responsabilidades

• Undertake environmental monitoring, data interpretation and reporting in accordance with the site permit and Biffa instructions.
• Undertake gas field monitoring, balancing and maintenance.
• Manage the landfill gas compound to ensure that power generation is maximised.
• Undertake all duties in accordance with Health and Safety policies, guidance notes and training.
• Work closely with and collaborate with landfill operational colleagues.
• Supervise and manage contractors that work on specific areas relating to this role.
• Collect, understand, collate and prepare data for generator and environmental performance.

This role will cover Norfolk, Suffolk & Cambridge.

A quick look at the role.

To undertake environmental monitoring of various landfill sites, data interpretation and reporting in accordance with the site permit as well as gas field balancing, maintenance and gas compound management.

• Monday to Friday working pattern, with on call rota of 1 week in 5
• £30 on call allowance, plus time and a half overtime if called out
• Covering the south region
• 42 hours per week as standard, with regular overtime available
• Autonomy to manage your own diary and workload.
• Company vehicle provided, with personal use available

Your core responsibilities.

• Undertake environmental monitoring, data interpretation and reporting in accordance with the site permit and Biffa instructions
• Undertake gas field monitoring, balancing and maintenance
• Manage the landfill gas compound to ensure that power generation is maximised
• Undertake all duties in accordance with Health and Safety policies, guidance notes and training
• Work closely with and collaborate with landfill operational colleagues
• Supervise and manage contractors that work on specific areas relating to this role
• Collect, understand, collate and prepare data (for generator and environmental performance) as required to monitor the overall business performance, identify areas for improvement and implement these in collaboration with Management.
• Out of hours emergency assistance for gas generation issues
• Carry out such reasonable tasks as might be required by the Company from time to time.
