Biffa Waste Services Environmental & Gas Operative role based in the UK. You will monitor landfill sites, interpret data and report findings in accordance with site permits and Biffa instructions.

You will also monitor gas fields, balance operations, and manage the landfill gas compound to maximise power generation with an on-call rota and company vehicle provided.

Formación

• Driving is essential; you may visit multiple sites daily.
• Lone work on unattended sites is required.

Responsabilidades

• Undertake environmental monitoring and data interpretation.
• Carry out gas field monitoring, balancing and maintenance.
• Manage landfill gas compound to maximise power generation.
• Produce reports in line with site permit and instructions.
• Supervise contractors on specified tasks.
• Provide out-of-hours emergency support for gas generation issues.
• Carry out other duties as required.

Help us make a real difference as an Environmental & Gas Operative. A quick look at the role. To undertake environmental monitoring of various landfill sites, data interpretation and reporting in accordance with the site permit as well as gas field balancing, maintenance and gas compound management. Monday to Friday working pattern, with on call rota of 1 week in 5 £30 on call allowance, plus time and a half overtime if called out Covering the south region 42 hours per week as standard, with regular overtime available Autonomy to manage your own diary and workload. Company vehicle provided, with personal use available Your core responsibilities. Undertake environmental monitoring, data interpretation and reporting in accordance with the site permit and Biffa instructions Undertake gas field monitoring, balancing and maintenance Manage the landfill gas compound to ensure that power generation is maximised Undertake all duties in accordance with Health and Safety policies, guidance notes and training Work closely with and collaborate with landfill operational colleagues Supervise and manage contractors that work on specific areas relating to this role Collect, understand, collate and prepare data (for generator and environmental performance) as required to monitor the overall business performance, identify areas for improvement and implement these in collaboration with Management. Out of hours emergency assistance for gas generation issues Carry out such reasonable tasks as might be required by the Company from time to time.

• Driving licence - Driving is a large part of the role, you will sometimes be required to drive to more than one site in a day.
