Job summary

Biffa Group in Ipswich is seeking a Stores Keeper to organise and maintain stores, stock levels and CMMS, with regular stock checks to ensure availability and sourcing replacement parts for refurbishment.

The role includes maintaining stores facilities and quarantine areas, managing deliveries and issuing inventory to engineers and contractors, while upholding safety standards. Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week, shifts 07:00-17:00 or 06:00-16:00, at £14.28 per hour (£33,415 per annum).

Responsibilities

• Organise and maintain the stores, inventory levels and CMMS.
• Carry out regular stock checks to ensure stock availability.

• Assist with deliveries and issue stores inventory to engineering staff.
• Ensure safe working practices and housekeeping in stores.

Help us make a difference as a Stores Keeper at our facility in Ipswich.

A quick look at the role.

The role holder will organise and maintain the stores, inventory/stock levels and the stores systems. To carry out regular stock checks ensuring stock is available when needed. To source replacement parts and organise the refurbishment of refurbish able parts. Maintaining the stores facilities and quarantine areas.

This position is Monday to Friday - 45 hours per week.

0700 - 1700 or 0600 - 1600 hrs

£14.28 per hour - £33,415 per annum

• Comply fully with all safety instructions, policies and procedure to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and all others present
• Support the engineering manager in the development of the stores and inventory
• Carry out weekly stock checks/audits to ensure actual stock levels are correct as in the CMMS
• Identify potential areas for improvements in the stores or the systems
• Use the CMMS fully as per the company procedures to ensure there are no stock outs
• Communicate with suppliers to ensure the best quality products are purchased at the best prices, communicate issues to the management.
• Issue stores inventory to engineering and contractor staff in line with company requirements
• Manage deliveries of inventory and collection of parts for refurbishment, including management of non-conforming products
• Maintain the workplace, tools and engineering facilities to prevent hazard and risks in the workplace and to promote effective engineering practices
