Job Description:

MCS Group is seeking a proactive and skilled Environmental & Facilities Engineer to support the management and maintenance of on-site facilities and services for a leading manufacturing company based in the Greater Belfast area.

This diverse role involves working across plant infrastructure, environmental systems, and site services, aiming to improve compliance, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.

You will:

• Ensure plant and facility systems comply with relevant legislation and industry standards.
• Manage service contracts including water, compressors, forklifts, cranes, heating, and waste management.
• Develop and maintain environmental databases for reporting and investigate environmental incidents or concerns.
• Lead internal environmental audits and support external compliance activities (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce energy consumption, waste, and environmental impact.
• Coordinate with suppliers for sourcing efficient equipment and services.
• Prepare technical specifications, review tenders, and present capital expenditure proposals to senior management.
• Engage with regulatory bodies for audits, reporting, permits, and funding opportunities.
• Identify and lead the implementation of cost-saving projects.
• Conduct risk and compliance assessments across environmental and facilities operations.

Requirements include a degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field, and strong knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance frameworks such as ISO 14001 and PPC.
