Job Description:

MCS Group is seeking a proactive and skilled Environmental & Facilities Engineer to oversee the management and maintenance of on-site facilities and services for a leading manufacturing company in the Greater Belfast area. In this role, you will work across plant infrastructure, environmental systems, and site services, aiming to improve compliance, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.

• Ensure all plant and facility systems comply with relevant legislation and industry standards.
• Manage service contracts including water, compressors, forklifts, cranes, heating, and waste management.
• Develop and maintain environmental databases and investigate environmental incidents.
• Lead internal environmental audits and support external compliance activities (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
• Drive initiatives to reduce energy consumption, waste, and environmental impact.
• Coordinate with suppliers for equipment and service sourcing.
• Prepare technical specifications, review tenders, and present capital expenditure proposals.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies for audits, permits, and funding.
• Identify and implement cost-saving projects.
• Conduct risk and compliance assessments in environmental and facilities operations.

Requirements include a degree in Engineering, Environmental studies, or related fields, and strong knowledge of relevant legislation like ISO 14001 and PPC.
