Job Description:

MCS Group is seeking a proactive and skilled Environmental & Facilities Engineer to support the management and maintenance of all on-site facilities and services for a leading manufacturing company based in the Greater Belfast area.

This role involves working across plant infrastructure, environmental systems, and site services to improve compliance, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring all plant and facility systems comply with relevant legislation and industry standards.
• Managing service contracts such as water, compressors, forklifts, cranes, heating, and waste management.
• Developing and maintaining environmental databases and investigating environmental incidents or concerns.
• Leading internal environmental audits and supporting external compliance activities (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
• Driving initiatives to reduce energy consumption, waste, and overall environmental impact.
• Coordinating with suppliers to source efficient equipment and services.
• Preparing technical specifications, reviewing tenders, and presenting capital expenditure proposals to senior management.
• Liaising with regulatory bodies regarding audits, reporting, permits, and funding.
• Identifying and implementing cost-saving projects.
• Conducting risk and compliance assessments across environmental and facilities operations.

Candidates should have a degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field, and strong knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance frameworks such as ISO 14001 and PPC.
