Production Engineering Section

Environmental & Compliance Advisor

A permanent vacancy has arisen within our client's Production Engineering Section for an Environmental & Compliance Advisor.

Supporting the Senior Environmental & Compliance Advisor, the main focus will be to provide expert environmental advice, ensure site compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, and assist in implementing business operating improvements to support the client's objectives in the drive to Net Zero.

Salary: Up to £45,000 (Dependent on experience)

Hours of Work: 7am - 4pm (Monday - Thursday), 7am - 12pm (Fridays)

Main Duties:

1. Ensure all aspects of Environmental, Safety, and Quality are documented and integrated into processes.
2. Provide technical expertise in understanding, interpreting, and implementing relevant directives.
3. Assist operations management in maintaining environmental compliance and investigate issues.
4. Work with Engineering/Facilities and Maintenance teams to identify environmental issues affecting the business.
5. Understand and support COSHH management and implementation.
6. Assist with standards and regulations including ISO14001 and ESOS/SECR/PAS2060.
7. Prepare, obtain, and maintain plans, permits, and SOPs (e.g., effluent discharge permits, emissions).
8. Gather, analyze, and report environmental data, including energy use.
9. Consult and brief staff, management, and third parties on decarbonization projects and initiatives.

Key Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

• Preferably 3-5 years of experience in environment or compliance roles.
• Degree in a relevant subject preferred.
• Environmental or sustainability graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Experience managing third-party audits.
• Project management experience (preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
• Working knowledge of ISO14001 and PAS 2060, with auditing experience.
• Understanding of F-Gas regulations (preferred).
