Job summary

Murphy is recruiting an Environmental Advisor to join our Infrastructure team, delivering a major water project in partnership with United Utilities as part of the AMP8 programme. You will work with regulators to secure permits, manage environmental compliance on site and liaise with clients, regulators and the wider environmental team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of carrying out site audits / inspection and provision of environmental reports.
• Knowledge of implementing environmental controls to meet DCO/planning conditions.
• Competence in leading investigations into environmental incidents.
• Ability to train others on environment management systems and processes (e.g. EMS, TBTs).
• Some experience of waste management and KPI reporting.
• Mathematical knowledge.
• Ability to think analytically and critically.

Responsibilities

• Work with regulators to ensure permits, licences, etc. are in place before works begin.
• Support day-to-day environmental management of construction activities.
• Liaise with site teams, clients, stakeholders and the wider environmental team.
• Conduct environmental inspections and audits on site.
• Interpret data and write detailed reports.
• Keep up to date with changes in environmental law.
• Create waste management datasets and ensure biodiversity protections on site.
