Job summary
Murphy is recruiting a Project Engineer to support our Water & Wastewater portfolio, delivering design‑to‑operation solutions for major clients in Northern Ireland. You will lead technical design, optioneering and project delivery, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and high-quality outputs.
The role focuses on detailed design and technical assurance, with site support and collaboration across multi‑disciplinary teams, contributing to sustainability and digital delivery initiatives.
Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process or Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum 2–5 years’ post‑graduate UK water industry experience on capital projects.
- Strong knowledge of sludge treatment and bioresources.
- Understanding of CDM 2015 and health & safety in construction contexts.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise designs for water/wastewater projects, incl. treatment upgrades and sludge facilities.
- Lead optioneering, modelling, scheme appraisals and detailed calculations from concept to construction.
- Provide technical assurance on designs, drawings and contractor submissions.
