Job summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking an Environmental Advisor to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, promote sustainable practices, and manage environmental risks across site operations on the HPC project.

You will support CDM/E&S, engage with contractors, conduct EIAs, monitor performance data, and deliver training to raise environmental awareness; weekend/evening work may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience as an environmental advisor, ideally in the construction sector.
• PQTP demonstrating 1-2 years' experience working in environmental management and awareness of 14001 environmental management systems desirable but not essential.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in an environmental discipline (or similar).
• Driving licence.
• Construction Industry experience.
• For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance: Support for ensuring site activities meet environmental legislation, permits, and regulatory requirements.
• E&S Plan Implementation: Ensure the Environmental & Sustainability Plan, standards, and work instructions are understood and applied.
• Subcontractor Management: Monitor and manage environmental aspects at key interface points to minimise risk.
• Incident and Non-Conformance Support: Assist in investigation, reporting, and close-out of environmental incidents and non-conformances.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve environmental performance and sustainability.
• Environmental Risk Management: Support identification, assessment, and control of environmental risks across site operations.
