Job summary

Principal People is seeking an Environmental Advisor for a contractor delivering infrastructure projects across Scotland. The role is hybrid and covers multiple sites, helping teams on practical environmental decisions and supporting live civils and utilities work.

You will work with an environmental team to identify risks, deliver briefings and promote responsible environmental performance. A competitive package includes up to £50,000, a car option or £5,000 allowance, pension and CPD support.

Qualifications

• Environmental experience in construction, civils, utilities or infrastructure.
• Environmental qualification or related degree.
• Understanding of environmental legislation, management systems and risk assessment.
• IEMA membership would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Visit projects to identify environmental risks and advise site teams on workable controls.
• Carry out inspections/audits, support ISO 14001 compliance, and guide waste management and environmental performance.
• Investigate incidents, agree corrective actions, deliver environmental briefings and liaise with client/regulators/supply chain.

I'm recruiting an Environmental Advisor for a contractor delivering a long-term infrastructure framework across Scotland. You'll support live civils and utilities projects, from mains replacement and network upgrades to capital projects. The role covers multiple sites and gives you the scope to work directly with project teams on practical environmental decisions.
You'll be part of a supportive environmental team, with colleagues to share ideas with and turn to for advice when you need it.
