Job summary

Principal People Recruitment is seeking an Environmental Advisor for a contractor delivering an infrastructure framework across Scotland. You will support live civils and utilities projects, promoting practical environmental controls and direct collaboration with project teams on site.

Working within a collaborative environmental team, you will inspect, audit and advise on waste management and regulatory compliance, while liaising with clients and regulators to drive sustainable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Environmental experience in construction, civils, utilities, water or infrastructure.
• An environmental qualification or related degree.
• Understanding of environmental legislation, management systems and risk assessment, and comfortable giving clear advice to operational teams.
• IEMA membership, or progress towards it, would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Visit projects to identify environmental risks and advise site teams on workable controls.
• Carry out inspections and audits, support ISO 14001 compliance, and guide waste management and environmental performance.
• Investigate incidents, agree corrective actions, deliver environmental briefings and liaise with client, regulators and supply chain partners.

Want to spend more time on site helping teams solve environmental issues, with the flexibility of a hybrid role?

I'm recruiting an Environmental Advisor for a contractor delivering a long-term infrastructure framework across Scotland. You'll support live civils and utilities projects, from mains replacement and network upgrades to capital projects. The role covers multiple sites and gives you the scope to work directly with project teams on practical environmental decisions.

You'll be part of a supportive environmental team, with colleagues to share ideas with and turn to for advice when you need it.
