Job summary

Alfred H Knight in Liverpool, UK is seeking an Environmental Advisor to uphold the ISO 14001 certification for AHK North West Laboratories, with support from the existing H&S team. The role supports the Project Quartz initiative to develop and implement environmental procedures across global operations.

You will engage stakeholders, apply environmental risk assessment practices, and contribute to continuous improvement of environmental performance across sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in an HSE role, preferably within a similar industry.
• Responsibility for managing an EMS in a previous role.
• Broad understanding of Environmental risk assessment, Aspects & Impacts, etc.

Responsibilities

• Uphold ISO 14001 certification for AHK North West Laboratories.
• Support the Project Quartz initiative to develop and implement Group Environmental Procedures across Alfred H Knight's global operations.
• Engage stakeholders and drive compliance with environmental policies.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in environmental performance across sites.

Job description

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Advisor to join our team here in Liverpool, UK. Under the guidance of the Group H&S Manager, the Environmental Advisor will focus primarily on upholding the ISO 14001 certification for AHK North West Laboratories, with assistance from the existing H&S Team. Additionally, this position will contribute to the Company's Project Quartz initiative, which aims to develop and implement Group Environmental Procedures across Alfred H Knight's global operations.

Required Knowledge and Work Experience

• Ability to identify and engage stakeholders.
• Ability to influence positive change where required.
• Must be capable of adaptive problem solving and potential conflict resolution issues to ensure compliance.
• Understanding of UK Environmental legislation a requirement.

Required Work Experience

• 5+ years in a HSE role, preferably within a similar industry.
• Responsibility for managing an EMS in a previous role.
• If internal, must show a broad understanding of Environmental risk assessment, Aspects & Impacts etc.

Qualifications

• Lead Auditor certification for ISO standards would be an advantage.
• IOSH membership is standard, also EMA or equivalent qualification would be desirable but not essential.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Environmental-specific qualification.

• The role may involve prospective travel as it progresses.
