Job summary

Job description

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Advisor to join our team here in Liverpool, UK.

Under the guidance of the Group H&S Manager, the Environmental Advisor will focus primarily on upholding the ISO 14001 certification for AHK North West Laboratories, with assistance from the existing H&S Team. Additionally, this position will contribute to the Company’s Project Quartz initiative, which aims to develop and implement Group Environmental Procedures across Alfred H Knight’s global operations.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• Ability to identify and engage stakeholders.
• Ability to influence positive change where required.
• Must be capable of adaptive problem solving and potential conflict resolution issues to ensure compliance.
• Understanding of UK Environmental legislation a requirement.

Required Work Experience

• 5+ years in a HSE role, preferably within a similar industry.
• Responsibility for managing an EMS in a previous role.
• If internal, must show a broad understanding of Environmental risk assessment, Aspects & Impacts etc.

Qualifications

• Lead Auditor certification for ISO standards would be an advantage.
• IOSH membership is standard, also EMA or equivalent qualification would be desirable but not essential.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Environmental-specific qualification.

Travel

• The role may involve prospective travel as it progresses.
