Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a warm and welcoming primary school in Tuebrook. They seek an Unqualified Teaching Assistant to work under qualified teachers, supporting pupil attainment and social, emotional and academic development.

This is an excellent entry point for anyone considering a future career in education, with full training provided and safeguarding training to be completed. This is a term-time role with 39 weeks per year and salary per hour quoted.

Qualifications

• Genuine enthusiasm for working with children and young people.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
• Reliable, punctual and a good team player.
• Basic literacy and numeracy (GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or equivalent).
• Willingness to learn, take direction and respond to feedback; full training provided.
• Empathy, patience and a positive, encouraging approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day classroom support, including assisting with planning and delivery of engaging learning activities.
• Support individual pupils or small groups, especially those with additional needs.
• Prepare teaching resources, classroom displays and learning materials.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils work and play cooperatively.
• Supervise pupils during break and lunch times as required.
• Support pupils with reading, writing, numeracy and other key skills interventions.
• Undertake routine administrative tasks (e.g. photocopying, filing, record-keeping).
• Help pupils develop social skills and model positive attitudes and behaviour.
• Provide pastoral care, basic welfare support and first aid (training provided).
