Job summary

McLaughlin & Harvey in London, UK, is hiring an Assistant Health & Safety Advisor to support our growing H&S team on high-value construction projects. No prior H&S experience is required; we provide full training and mentoring to help you progress towards professional qualifications.

You’ll work alongside experienced H&S professionals across diverse projects, gaining practical safety exposure, promoting high standards, and contributing to a collaborative safety culture.

Qualifications

• A genuine interest in Health & Safety and a desire to develop a career within the profession.
• An interest in working within the construction industry and promoting high Health & Safety standards.
• Good IT skills and confidence using technology.
• A positive, proactive and hardworking approach.
• The willingness to learn, develop new skills and undertake relevant professional qualifications.
• Good communication skills and the confidence to work with people at all levels.
• Previous experience in construction or Health & Safety would be advantageous, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support H&S Advisors in promoting high standards of Health & Safety across our projects.
• Provide practical Health & Safety support to teams at all levels of the organisation.
• Assist with Health & Safety inspections, audits and incident investigations.
• Support the development and implementation of Health & Safety initiatives and campaigns.
• Develop your knowledge and experience through on-the-job learning and working alongside experienced H&S professionals.
• Work towards relevant Health & Safety qualifications as part of your professional development.
