Job summary

ASOS is seeking an Associate Analytics Engineer at the start of your career to join our Data & Analytics team in London. You’ll work with Data Engineers to explore, analyse and curate datasets on our ADE and build analytics products with Databricks.

You'll learn through pairing, mentoring and code reviews, contribute to stakeholder conversations, and progressively take ownership as you grow your technical and analytical skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in a numerate, technical or analytical subject, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in SQL with the ability to write and understand queries.
• Some exposure to Python; willingness to learn.
• Interest in modern data platforms such as Databricks or Apache Spark.
• Understanding of data modelling and data warehousing concepts.
• Interest in modern analytics practices: version control, testing and deployment.
• Confidence to ask questions and communicate findings clearly.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and collaboration.
• Interest in cloud-based data platforms, especially Azure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain analytical data models and curated datasets in ADE (Databricks).
• Work with Data Engineers and gradually own deliverables.
• Participate in stakeholder discussions to shape requirements.
• Carry out exploratory analysis and prototyping to test assumptions.
• Evaluate outcomes and business value of solutions.
• Support Product Manager with discovery activities and questions.
• Contribute to data quality through testing and validation.
• Build analytical data products in dbt with CI/CD.
• Document data models, logic and workflows for discoverability.
• Enable Analysts, Data Scientists and BI Developers to build insights from trusted data.
