Job summary

EDF (UK) is hiring for a Platform Specialist within the Enterprise IT function to lead the Virtual Devices platform. You will direct Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 deployments, set engineering standards and partner with security, product and operations teams to deliver secure, scalable virtual desktop services.

You will mentor engineers and drive automation, with hybrid working and occasional UK travel. A strong background in enterprise VDI and cloud infrastructure is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Virtual Devices platform, directing Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365 and related cloud services.
• Act as technical authority for enterprise virtual desktop and application delivery technologies.
• Drive technical strategy, decisions and engineering standards for secure, scalable solutions.
• Oversee Azure infrastructure and AVD environments supporting Virtual Devices services.
• Provide leadership across profile, storage and automation tech (FSLogix, NetApp, Terraform, GitHub).
• Lead deployment pipelines and tooling for secure, auditable delivery processes.
• Collaborate with product/architecture/security/ops to maintain resilient platforms and manage risk.
• Oversee full lifecycle of virtual desktop services with stakeholders to drive improvement.
