Job summary

Barclays is seeking an Enterprise Data Platforms (EDP) Data Modeler to shape enterprise data across our global organisation. You will design scalable conceptual, logical and physical data models that support critical business, regulatory and analytical capabilities.

Based in Northampton, you will work with metadata tools like ER Studio and Erwin, apply knowledge of finance data classes, data governance (BCBS 239), and modern cloud data architectures to deliver robust data models across

Qualifications

• Expert conceptual, logical and physical data modelling with experience implementing at enterprise scale.
• Solid experience with metadata management toolsets, such as ER Studio, Erwin or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of Finance Data Classes, including awareness of key data concepts across financial asset classes.
• Knowledge of financial services data governance and regulatory frameworks, such as BCBS 239.
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and modern data architectures.
• Familiarity with data lineage, data quality and master data management (MDM) practices.

Responsibilities

• Analysis and documentation of business requirements to translate them into data models aligned with organisational goals.
• Development and maintenance of data dictionaries and glossaries to define data elements and their usage.
• Analysis and monitoring of data usage patterns to identify opportunities for data optimisation and improvement, in partnership with the Data Base Administrator.
• Strategic architecture definition and product selection.
• Production of logical designs in relevant subject area (technical, data, operational), showing processes, objects, data flows, inputs, stored data and outputs.
• Implementation of architectures and identification, ownership and resolution of design related issues.
• Definition and documentation of data architectures standards, principles and strategies.
