Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced pharmacy technician to work as a band 5 in medicines management, with responsibilities including dispensing, medicines supply, ward-based services, and supporting quality improvement projects. You will collaborate closely with nursing staff and pharmacy teams to ensure optimal medicines use and patient safety.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage prescription queries and supply issues, including complex technical problems.
  • Support training of students and apprentices.
  • Dispense medicines, check prescriptions, and counsel patients.
  • Maintain ward stock lists and liaise with staff on storage and temperature monitoring.
  • Participate in ward audits and ensure compliance with medicines policies.
Person Specification
  • BTEC and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent.
  • Registered pharmacy technician with GPhC (current).
  • Accuracy Checking Accreditation.
  • Experience in medicines management, storage, supply, and risk management.
