Job summary

East End Health Network Co Ltd is seeking an Enhanced Access Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support evening and weekend clinics across the Primary Care Network. You will work with GPs, nurses and other clinicians, performing clinical tasks, health promotion, and accurate record-keeping to ensure safe, patient-centred care outside core hours.

You will undertake delegated duties including observations, venepuncture, ECGs, and chronic disease monitoring, while maintaining infection prevention

Qualifications

• Care Certificate or equivalent healthcare qualification.
• Evidence of healthcare assistant training.
• Venepuncture competency or willingness to undertake training.
• GCSEs in English and Maths.
• Experience in healthcare settings.
• Experience undertaking basic clinical observations.
• Experience maintaining accurate patient records.
• Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Undertake routine clinical observations (BP, pulse, SpO2, height/weight/BMI, temperature, urinalysis).
• Perform venepuncture and NHS Health Check activities.
• Conduct ECG recordings.
• Assist patients with health screening programmes and health promotion activities.
• Record clinical information accurately in the clinical system and maintain documentation.
• Support audit and quality improvement activities.
• Greet patients professionally and support access to services.
• Travel between Enhanced Access sites across the PCN as required.
