Job summary

Babington Academy in Leicester is seeking a qualified teacher to lead after-school one-to-one tutoring, focused on Key Stage 3 and 4 to boost GCSE attainment. Sessions are targeted on specific knowledge and skills, guided by the day-time teacher and the Faculty Leader, with progress monitored and feedback provided.

You will join the Learning without Limits Academy Trust network, a diverse and supportive environment offering professional development.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with QTS.
• Experience delivering targeted tutoring to GCSE students.
• Able to work after school hours in Leicester.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to Faculty Leader and teacher.

Job description

We are looking to appoint a qualified teacher who is able to offer one to one tutoring, mainly after school, in order to support our drive to raise standards at both Key Stage 3 and 4. The rate of pay is based on the individual's current teaching grade (excluding TLR). The work that tutors are doing with students is very focussed and targeted on specific knowledge, skills or understanding in their subject area. The targeted students are told that the sessions are compulsory. Most tutoring takes place outside of lesson times in an afterschool slot. This is to ensure that students have the best possible chance of achieving outstanding progress in their GCSEs. You will be guided in your tutoring by the teacher who teaches the students during the normal school day and the Faculty Leader. You will also be expected to monitor and record progress and feedback to the Faculty Leader and teacher.
