Job summary

Linq Recruitment Specialists in Manchester is helping a well-established SEMH school in Wythenshawe recruit a Qualified English Teacher to support SEMH pupils.

You will deliver engaging KS3 and KS4 English, manage behaviours and adapt lessons to individual needs, with small class sizes and close teamwork with TAs/HLTA to ensure progress in literacy and personal development.

Qualifications

• QTS or QTLS; ECTs considered, although experienced teachers preferred.
• Experience working with SEMH pupils is highly desirable.
• Experience managing challenging behaviour within SEMH settings.
• Experience in SEND/SEMH/alternative provision environments.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse needs.
• Resilient, patient and empathetic, with good communication and teamwork.
• Degree in any subject.

Responsibilities

A nurturing and well-established SEMH school in Wythenshawe is looking for a Qualified English Teacher to join their close-knit team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher who is confident working with SEMH pupils and challenging behaviours. The school supports students with a range of additional needs and provides a structured, supportive environment focused on both academic progress and personal development.

The school has very small class sizes of around 5 students, with 2 Teaching Assistants and a HLTA also supporting within the classroom, providing a high level of individual support.

About the role

Who we're looking for

• Previous experience working with SEMH pupils is highly desirable
• Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and confidence in managing behaviours that may present within an SEMH setting
• Experience working within a SEND, SEMH, alternative provision or similar environment
