Job summary

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for an experienced English Teacher to join a successful secondary school in the Chester-le-Street area on a full-time maternity cover contract from April 2027. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate English specialist to join a supportive and well-established department, delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Qualifications

• Recent UK secondary school teaching experience is essential.
• For this maternity cover, candidates must hold QTS or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and assessment.

• Deliver high-quality English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Plan, prepare and assess work in line with the national curriculum.
• Monitor student progress and provide targeted support where required.
• Create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
