Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a Secondary School English Teacher to join the Watford area. This full-time role starts in September and offers a competitive salary range of £34,000–£56,000+ per year.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential to teach Key Stage 5. You’ll contribute to developing students’ confidence, analytical skills and a lifelong love of English.

Qualifications

• Degree in English, English Literature, or related field.
• Teaching qualification preferred (QTS).
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach Key Stage 3–5 English (or grades 7–12) through engaging lessons covering literature, language, and writing skills.
• Support student growth with assessments, constructive feedback and guidance.

Are you an enthusiastic English teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to inspire and support secondary school students? Supply Desk is looking for a passionate and committed English teacher to join a forward-thinking and ambitious English department in the Watford area.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5. You will play an important role in developing students’ confidence, analytical abilities and communication skills, while helping them develop a genuine enthusiasm for English.

This role would suit both experienced teachers and ECTs who are keen to build their teaching career within a supportive, ambitious and positive school environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Teach Key Stage 3–5 English (or grades 7–12) through engaging lessons covering literature, language, and writing skills.
