Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd are recruiting an English Teacher for a welcoming secondary school in Tameside. The position is full-time and temporary cover starting September 2026, with GCSE English to be taught across KS3 and KS4 (Years 7-11). You will deliver engaging lessons, manage classes effectively, and contribute to extracurricular activities.

The successful candidate will hold QTS or PGCE, have recent GCSE English experience, and be available full-time. ECTs considered.

£168 - £232 per day (salary is dependent on experience and/or qualifications)

The School and the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate GCSE English Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Tamesideon a full-time, temporary cover starting September2026/ASAP.

You'll be teaching Englishacross KS3 and KS4 (Years 7-11), delivering engaging, creative lessons that inspire confidence and performance skills. The school has well-motivated students, strong leadership support, and a clear commitment to professional development. English is valued within the curriculum, with opportunities to contribute to extracurricular activities.

You'll be joining a dedicated and collaborative department, with access to good facilities, specialist resources, and free onsite parking.

Requirements

To be considered for this Teacher of Englishrole, you must:

  • Hold QTS or a PGCE (UK-recognised teaching qualification)
  • Have recent experience teaching GCSE English (Years 10 and 11)
  • ECTs considered
  • Be available full-time
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and the ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Be able to provide suitable references, a valid Enhanced DBS (or be willing to apply), and Right to Work in the UK
