Cover People are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded secondary school in Tameside for a Secondary Teacher of English to join from September 2026. The role welcomes ECTs and experienced teachers and offers an engaging, supportive environment with clear progression potential.

You will teach English Language and English Literature to KS3/KS4, with KS5 opportunities for suitable candidates, plan high-quality lessons, monitor progress and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or due to achieve by September 2026.
  • A degree in English or a related subject.
  • Confident teaching English across KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong classroom presence and behaviour management.
  • Commitment to CPD and school life.

Location: Tameside Position: Secondary Teacher of English (ECTs & Experienced Teachers) Start Date: September 2026 Salary: £150-£200 per day DOE
