Part-Time English Teacher – Fareham, Hampshire

Are you a passionate and dedicated English Teacher looking for a part-time role in a supportive and dynamic secondary school?

This role is offered as either a fixed-term contract or a permanent contract following a successful probation period.

About the Role:
Starting in September 2025, you will deliver inspiring and engaging English lessons to secondary students for three days each week. You will take responsibility for lesson planning, assessment, report writing, and participate in parents’ evenings. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Participate in parents’ evenings, report writing, and contribute to pastoral duties.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere that fosters student development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support and develop the English department.

Job Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification. ECTs are welcome to apply.
  • Strong knowledge of English Language and Literature.
  • Ability to inspire and engage students across different ability levels.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a supportive learning environment
  • Commitment to high teaching standards and student achievement.
  • An updated CV covering the last ten years (without unexplained gaps).
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
