Job summary

Frome Community College is seeking an English Teacher to join our experienced English faculty. The role is 1.0FTE, with part-time options considered, and offers MPS/UPS. Start date January 2027, with the possibility of an earlier start.

The successful candidate will inspire students to excel in GCSE and A-Level studies using fantastic on-site facilities including the Merlin Theatre, dance, drama, recording and art/photography studios. ECTs welcome and supported.

Qualifications

• Must be an outstanding teacher or Early Career Teacher (ECT).
• Passion for English and helping students succeed.
• Ability to teach inspirational lessons consistently.
• Innovative, creative, enthusiastic – able to deliver results.

Responsibilities

• Teach both GCSE and A-Level English.
• Be proactive and promote positivity within the department.
• Work effectively as part of a team with strong communication skills.
• Support the department's induction schemes for ECTs.

The ability and willingness toteach in other subject areas, such as PSHE, would be an advantage. Early Career Teachers areencouraged to apply – we offer a very supportive ECT Induction scheme.
