The role

I work on behalf of a fantastic secondary school based in Cheltenham that is looking for a teacher to join the English department and lead classes across the age range. The role will involve:

  • Working proactively with other members of the department
  • Good UK curriculum knowledge

This is a perfect opportunity for any teacher or subject specialist who wants to continue teaching and working with children but without the hassle of planning and marking!

As a cover teacher, you will be delivering pre-planned lessons and maintaining continuity of learning in the absence of regular classroom teachers. Adapting teaching materials and strategies to suit different learning styles and abilities. An important part of the role is managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment. You need to provide guidance, assistance, and support to students in their academic and personal development. The school is looking for someone who can collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to ensure a smooth transition for students, along with effective communication. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to work across different grade levels and subject areas.
