English Specialist Teaching Assistant - Secondary School (Levenshulme)
Start Date: September 2025 | Full-Time | Daily Rate: £89 - £100

Are you a graduate in English or a passionate individual with strong literacy skills looking to support students in a school environment? A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Levenshulme is seeking a dedicated English Specialist Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone considering a future in teaching, literacy intervention, or education support, while making a genuine impact on students' learning and confidence in English.

  • Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in English language and literature

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions focusing on literacy, comprehension, and writing

  • Assist English teachers with lesson preparation, marking support, and resource creation

  • Help students prepare for GCSE assessments and build academic confidence

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and focused learning environment

  • A degree in English, Creative Writing, or a related subject (or strong literacy skills and school-based experience)

  • Confident communicator with a passion for reading, writing, and helping young people succeed

  • Organised, proactive, and patient with a supportive approach to behaviour and learning

  • Previous experience working with young people or in a school setting is desirable

  • A friendly, collaborative English department

  • CPD opportunities and potential routes into teacher training

  • Supportive leadership and a positive working culture

  • Daily rate of £89 - £100 depending on experience
