Qualifications

  • Must have Qualified Teacher Status and experience with autistic pupils.
  • Creativity and flexibility in lesson delivery are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Train and lead on phonics, reading, and writing in Early Years and Primary.
  • Support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and emotional needs.

Skills

Experience working with pupils who are autistic
Ability to communicate using Makaton, PECs, PODD
Experience with challenging behavior

  • Experience working with pupils who are autistic
  • Ability to communicate in various ways, including Makaton, PECs, PODD
  • Experience working with pupils displaying challenging behavior
  • Flexibility to work with pupils aged 4 to 11
  • Creativity in delivering lessons, with a bespoke, accessible curriculum
  • Knowledge of autism strategies like TEACCH, attention autism, PODD
