Job Title: Special Education Teacher

Salary: Up to £62,771 + TLR + excellent benefits

Please note: There is a potential opportunity for TLR with this position upon completion of probation.

Role Overview

The desirable candidate will be able to train and lead on phonics, reading, and writing in Early Years and Primary. Our teachers are fulfilled by making even the smallest positive changes in our young people, which we call 'huge small victories'. These victories, though small, significantly impact our pupils' lives.

About the School and Environment

Lavender Lodge School, located in Mitcham within an 18th-century building, serves pupils from various boroughs. Our school was recently rated 'Good' by Ofsted. We pride ourselves on providing a supportive environment with dedicated staff and well-resourced facilities.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience working with pupils who are autistic and familiarity with autism strategies such as TEACCH, attention autism, PODD, Makaton, and PECs.
• Ability to communicate in various ways, including with non-verbal pupils.
• Experience managing challenging behavior and understanding its functions.
• Flexibility to work with pupils aged 4 to 11 years old.
• Creative and bespoke approach to delivering lessons, using available tools to support learning.
