Job summary

Class Act Teaching Services is recruiting for an English Language Teacher in Oxfordshire for a specialist educational setting. The role is a full-time temp-to-perm position starting as soon as possible, supporting learners aged 10-18 with ASC/SEMHT needs and focusing on literacy and language development.

The ideal candidate will have QTS or equivalent and experience teaching English in a secondary or specialist setting, with strong classroom and behaviour management skills and a patient,

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is desirable.
• Experience teaching English Language in a secondary or specialist setting.
• Experience supporting students with ASC/SEMH is advantageous.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to adapt learning to meet individual pupil needs.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging English Language lessons to students with ASC and SEMH needs.
• Support learners in developing reading, writing, communication, and literacy skills.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs and abilities.
• Create a structured and inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor and assess student progress.
• Help students build confidence and independence through learning.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community.
