Step Into Teaching are supporting a secondary school in Nuneaton with English graduates who are wanting to gain classroom experience before teacher training. If you currently hold a degree in English, then this could be the ideal position for you.

The school are looking for graduates that are enthusiastic about English Language and Literature and have a genuine desire to better the educational outcomes of the pupils they work with.

Qualifications

• Degree in English or related subject with 2:2 or higher.
• Strong communication skills capable of engaging and inspiring young people.
• Keen interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education.
• Experience with young people is desirable but not essential.
• Patience, flexibility and a positive attitude toward learning and teaching.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering high-quality lessons in English language and literature.
• Work with students in small groups or one-to-one to reinforce learning.
• Assist with classroom management and creating a productive learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
• Help prepare teaching materials and resources.
• Provide additional support for students with SEN as required.
• Encourage confidence, creativity and a love of learning in students.
