Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive English and Functional Skills lessons to 16-19-year-olds and adult learners
  • Plan, prepare and assess high-quality teaching materials in line with curriculum requirements
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to ensure learner progress and achievement
  • Contribute to course and curriculum development within the department
  • Participate in quality assurance processes, including lesson observations and performance reviews
What Were Looking For
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
  • A degree or Level 5+ qualification in English or a related subject
  • Experience teaching English and/or Functional Skills in an FE, school, or training environment
  • A learner-focused, inclusive teaching style and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A passion for helping students succeed regardless of their starting point
