Bluebank School, part of Outcomes First Schools, is seeking an English Subject Lead to elevate the English curriculum and drive teaching excellence for students aged 11–16 with SEMH and complex learning needs.

You will collaborate with the Headteacher and leadership team to raise standards, coach staff, and use data to inform target-setting and progression. This pivotal role focuses on high-quality teaching and strong collaboration across the department.

Qualifications

• Qualified: UK QTS or equivalent, with a relevant degree.
• Strong understanding of SEN, including ASC, learning difficulties, and complex needs.
• Leadership experience in curriculum development or as a subject lead.

Responsabilités

• Lead the development and delivery of the English curriculum, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
• Model outstanding teaching and support staff through coaching, demonstration lessons, and guidance.
• Mentor and develop new staff, including NQTs and colleagues taking on new responsibilities.
• Assist teachers with planning, assessment, target-setting, and effective use of data.
• Conduct classroom observations and contribute to performance management processes.
• Stay up-to-date with best practices in English education and share expertise across the department.
