Job summary
Simply Education Ltd. is recruiting an English Lead Teacher in the Chesterfield area to lead the English curriculum for SE HM needs students aged 11-16.
You will work with the Headteacher and leadership team to shape learning and drive high standards across classrooms, delivering engaging lessons and modelling best practice in a specialist SEMH environment. Qualifications
- UK QTS or equivalent
- Relevant degree in English or Education
- Experience teaching English to 11–16 year olds
- Leadership or curriculum development experience
- Understanding of SEND/SEMH and ASC
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of the English curriculum
- Teach engaging and accessible English lessons
- Create learning opportunities tailored to individual pupil needs
- Drive high standards of teaching, learning and pupil progress
- Support colleagues with planning, assessment and target setting
- Coach and mentor teachers, including early career teachers
- Model excellent classroom practice and deliver demonstration lessons
- Use assessment and pupil data to identify progress and development areas
- Conduct observations and contribute to performance management
- Lead departmental meetings and maintain relevant documentation
