Job summary

Nottingham College's Highfields Campus seeks an Engineering Workshop Technician to support practical engineering education within our hands-on workshops. You will help set up training environments, maintain equipment, and assist learners across welding, fabrication, machining, mechanical engineering, 3D printing and electronics.

You will work with teaching staff to ensure safe, well-organised spaces, manage stock and records, and provide guidance on tool use.

Qualifications

• Practical engineering experience in a workshop environment.
• Ability to set up and maintain teaching workshops.
• Good communication and classroom support.

Responsibilities

• Set up training environments and equipment for teaching.
• Support practical activities across welding, fabrication, machining, mechanical engineering, electronics.
• Carry out basic maintenance of machinery and tools.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with orders.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed.
